Karen, Nina, and Paul,
I am so shocked and saddened to have learned of your loss of Gordy. What a pleasure and privilege to have known him. A delightful man with great integrity, intellect, and humor. My fondest memories of Gordy are through Grace Lutheran, and of course, the annual 4th of July parade - the best group of Norwegians I've ever hung out with. My heartfelt sympathy to all of you - a tremendous loss for you, the Grace community, the Mequon-Thiensville community, and the world. They don't make 'em like Gordy anymore.
Fondly,
Toni Ihler

To Karen and the Petersen family,
Gordy will always be remembered as one of the most respected members of our Marquette family. As I look back on those wonderful years, I see how influential Gordy was in my development as a person and employee. No matter what the situation, he was always calm, honest, and supportive. We will all miss him!

My deepest sympathy to Karen and the entire Petersen family for their loss of dearest Gordy.
There are very few who have demonstrated the empathy, and honest caring for others than Gordy. He was a man that thought before he spoke. But when he did speak, you could count on Gordy to say, and do, the right thing.
It was my great pleasure to know, and truly TRUST Gordy during our time working together at Marquette. He was a great mentor and guide. May he now rest in God's peace.
Sincerely,
Mark Ganske

To Karen and Family,
We got to see a man who loved his work, the people he worked with and made both his passion! Gordy taught us integrity and a work ethic devoid in the workplace today. His Christlike manner showed in his treatment of others and I believe in the truest sense, tried to make a personal connection with everyone he met. I'm proud to have known him and will rejoice with him when we meet again!
Karen, so sorry for your loss,

Gordy was the best HR Director any employee could ever ask for. He took time to personally address any HR related issue promptly and fairly no matter what the situation. He truly cared for every employee. The memories of Gordy at company functions are deeply engrained in my mind and will be cherished for the rest of my life. I owe quite a bit of my success to several MEI mentors and Gordy was one of them. Gordy is one outstanding person that will be missed dearly. Rest in peace Gordy. My thoughts go out to his family and close friends.

Dear Karen & the Petersen family:
Thank you for sharing your husband & father with the Marquette Family. Gordy was our steward; our friend, & the catalyst for many careers. I will never forget the time when Mike Cudahy introduced him to GE guests at one of our first assimilation meetings in Le Bistro. Mike wanted to share the unique spirit of Marquette. The story went something like this: "When I brought the idea of a Day Care Center on site to Gordy, Gordy didn't say "No." Without hesitation, Gordy said, "We'll find a way."
That was typical of Gordy's spirit. He always found a way; & we were all the benefactors of his innovation. Please find solace in the good memories that he created for many. He will always be remembered with a smile. Fondly, Denise Petrovich
