Bernard Gilardi Obituary

Gilardi, Bernard F. Passed away peacefully on November 9, 2008, at the age of 88. His beloved wife of 54 years, Mary Rose (nee Bartolone), predeceased him in 2002. Proud and loving father of Mary Angela Gilardi and Domenica (Thomas) Kuech. Doting Nanu of grandchildren Andrew, Sarah and Christopher Kuech. Dear brother of Mary Rose (Frank) Gilardi, and sisters-in-law Vi Siegert, Mae (Sam) Tarantino, Zina and Pauline Bartolone. Further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation Friday, November 14, at the Funeral Home, from 4-7 PM, and Saturday at BLESSED TRINITY CHURCH, 4717 N. 38th St., from 10:30-11:15 AM with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM. Procession to Holy Cross Cemetery for the entombment to follow. Born into a large family in Solon Springs, WI and raised in Wisconsin Rapids, Bernie proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He moved to Milwaukee where he met his wife and became a lithographer until his retirement in 1982. He will be remembered for his friendliness and amusing sharp wit that reflects in his primitive style paintings, his lifelong hobby. He was a proud member of the Italian Community Center.
