Ralph Adam Schauer

Schauer, Ralph Adam Passed away December 30, 2010, in Waukesha, at age 85. He was born July 14, 1925, in West Allis, to Adam and Theresa Schauer (nee Kugler). Ralph married Charlotte Mae Clarke on June 5, 1948. Survivors include his three children, Mary (Mark) Schoonover, Gerald (Nancy) Schauer and Diane (Roger Butzlaff) Schauer. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Milo, Molly, Kristin and Alison, and his brother-in-law, Paul Warkentin. He was preceded in death by his wife Charlotte, his parents, and his sister Violet Warkentin. A 1943 graduate of West Allis Nathan Hale High School, Ralph enlisted and served two years as a Second Lieutenant in the Army Air Force during World War II. Following the service, he attended Carroll College, Waukesha, Wisconsin and graduated in 1950 from Stout Institute, in Menomonie, Wisconsin. Returning to West Allis, Ralph taught at Horace Mann Junior High School in West Allis for 30 years prior to his retirement in 1981. Ralph and Charlotte spent many happy years together in retirement before their passing. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Church and Chapel Funeral Home Service. His ashes will be interred in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in the spring of 2011. A celebration of his life will be held at that time.
