I was so sorry to read of Bob's passing. I had intended to stop in to the wake but then Mike's dad died on the 24th and I just did not make it. You have sincere sympathy from both Mike and myself.

I would be remiss if I did not send my heartfelt sympathy to Liz and the family. I have many great memories of times together and although it's been years, I still see Bob's smile and feel the warmth of his personality. I know he will be greatly missed by all those who life he touched!

Unfortunately, I hadn't seen Bob recently and was shocked to read of his passing. I was a member of Lake Band with Bob in his youth, and we were members of the "Swifts". A sub-culture in the band that was, for lack of a better word, "adventuresome". It was a great time in my life and Bob was a big part of it. This is indeed a major loss. My sympathy to all that were part of his life.

Mr. Awe instilled in me a life-long love of music. I am so lucky to have been his student and a member of Lakeshore Wind Symphony. He will never be forgotten. My heart goes out to all who knew and loved him.

Bob Awe. A great leader in the community, a kind soul, a wonderful heart. What a pleasure to have known him. What a privilege to have played in the Lakeshore Wind Symphony for nine years under his direction. Thank you, Bob, for all your hard work...thanks for giving us the chance to play! Uncle Bob, we will miss you so much. Michael and I were so looking forward to visiting you and Aunt Liz this summer and you guys playing golf together. Michael loves you and misses you and I'm so glad to have met you when you came down for our wedding. I wish I had the chance to have known you better. Our prayers are with your family. You are loved by all and will be dearly missed.

It was an honor to be Bob Awe's colleague for 12 years at South Milwaukee High School. He cared for his music students and was a tremendous person to have known. His legacy here at South Milwaukee will comtinue to impact the lives of the music students at the high school. He will be truly missed. God Bless!!

My fondest memories of Mr. Awe are with the Milwaukee Area Youth Band and practices in the old church basement. Those days will stay with me forever and I am so happy to have known Mr. Awe.

I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I know it's been a long time, but I have many wonderful memories of Bob when he was the codirector of the Milwaukee Area Youth Band along with Mike Poitinger back in the early 70's. I remember he had such passion for music and life in general and he was a true inspiration to me. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I have very fond memories of being in both high school band and the Lake Shore band with both Mr. Awe. I'm very saddened upon hearing of his passing, and my thoughts are with his family.

Mr. Awe was one of the strongest teachers there was at SMHS. He was one of the few that could keep me in line. Mr. Awe has touched so many people during his lifetime. He will be missed greatly.He is in a better place. My deepest sympathies go out to the Awe family.

Mr. Awe is one of the teachers that influenced me to pursue my own career in music education. Some of my earliest memories are of him conducting the Lake Shore Wind Symphony, of which I was later a member. He gave me so many wonderful opportunities during my time at SMHS, not the least of which was the opportunity to perform a solo with the Wind Ensemble. I am honored to be among his students, and indebted to his teaching and musical ability. My prayers are with the Awes.

Mr. Awe is at the top of my most influential teachers list, and his bands were the best I ever played in. He helped me through my student teaching experience, and to this day holds an influence on how I manage and teach my own young program. His talent and passion for music and education will be missed. We remember Bob's wry sense of humor, and we are grateful that he was always a warm host. His leadership never stopped, and many students, colleagues and family members looked to him for advice. We miss him terribly.
