One year ago today, was the day I picked you up from the airport thinking I would never have to say goodbye to you again, and then a few months later, I had to say goodbye forever. What a tragedy, the best was just starting to happen---

Miss you bro, was just thinking about our 1st deployment when Charlie used the mattresses to slam people on and we recorded videos of it. Great times I will never forget. Thanks again for always being a true friend.

My deepest condolences and sympathy to the parents of Corporal Zachary Gallenberg. I am the parent of Corporal Seth Massey who Zach befriended in Charlie battery. I had the pleasure of meeting your fine son in Hawaii while visiting my son. Your loss of Zach has touched our entire family. What a fine young Marine who had dedicated his life for the freedom of this country. His passing has impacted many of his peers. May God bless you and your family, and may God see you though this difficult time. Your family is in our prayers.
Respectfully,
Connie Hyle/Family (Corporal Seth Massey's Mother)

Zachary S. Gallenberg was one of the best nephew an aunt could ask for. There is no one on this earth will be like him. He was a unique man whose life was cut short. He will always be in our hearts. Love you Zachary and miss you.

When the guys that you knew to this day in Charlie are gone and moved on, your place will be here always as one of the faces that brightened up our days through the toughest times. Charlie has many legends and yours is by far my favorite. From my first day there you have always befriended me and many others. You've been a mentor, a leader, friend and most of all a Brother to us all. R.I.P may serve by your side in Heaven brother.

We were so upset to hear about Zach's tragic death. Just that nite, as we have every nite for the last several years, we prayed that God would "watch over Auntie Lala and Uncle Zach and keep them safe and healthy". I know God's taking care of Zach right now. I found Kira kneeling beside our bed, praying that God would watch over Uncle Zach. We all cared about him and were so proud of his service to our country. Please take care and let us know if there's anything we can do. Please know that we would've liked to support you and honor Zach by attending his funeral, but are out of state. God bless you all!
