Scott (aka "the Wizard") and Jeff Skaros enjoyed a few memorable weekends with a bunch of us in Madison in the early 70s. Later, my family and I enjoyed bring a customer of his at Shorewood Coin, usually after the passing of one of our relatives. He was truly a gentle man. My sympathies to Jeff and all of the Gunthers.

Scott was one of the good guys in the coin business. It didn't matter who you were or what you knew, he would always be fair with people and not try to take advantage of someone who was unknowledgeable. He was a fixture at his coin shop who will be missed by all who got to know him.

Now he can have his political chats with Don again. I know they enjoyed meeting at Maxwell Street Days and at the shop in Shorewood. I hope they have lots of coins in heaven!

Scott was a classmate of mine at Ben Franklin Grade School and lived nearby. We were also in Cub Scouts together. I remember walking past his house on 22nd and Nash everyday on the way to school. During summer vacation I remember seeing Scott and his brothers in their back yard on their roller coaster setup. Nice family with hard working parents.
God Bless you Scott.

Scottie was a kind, soft spoken gentleman that always gave everyone a fair deal, and offered a kind word. He paid the most he could for anything he could use...and sometimes for things that he couldn't 't...he was just a "good guy" take it from a man in the antique trade for almost 40 years...I will miss him like a family member. I am certain his reward will be twice the kindness that he shown others at the shows, shop, or just on the street, talking about "the time of day", He was a "one of a kind gent"...and his reward will be reflected in the next life. Scottie, your friendship was heartfelt, and just because your not here (in body) the memories of our good times, and business together will remain with me as long as I am breathing. I am sorry I can not attend, as I have spent the last three months traveling, and will not return for another two. Shirley, Deb & I miss you. Mark Sill Xotique Antiques Inc.
