Marion Coffey Obituary

Coffey, Marion (Nee Kunzelmann) Entered Eternal Life on December 29, 2011 at the age of 87 (don't tell anybody). Beloved wife for 62 years of Honorable John "Jack" Coffey. Loving mom of Peter (Kristine) Coffey and Lisa (Stephen) Robbins. Proud nanny of Katie (Jeff) Ruidl, Peter, Andrew and Marion "Marnie" Robbins; Megan, Sara and Will Coffey. Great-grandmother of John "Jack" Ruidl. Further survived by other relatives and many colorful friends. She was loving, selfless and inspiring, always putting her family first. When Marion walked into a room, she perceived it differently than others. Through her lens of creativity and optimism, she enhanced the beauty of the room and celebrated those within it. We would appreciate knowing where her paintings have landed. Please send a photo of your painting with a short note of what it means to you to [email protected]. Visitation will take place on Monday, January 2, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Feerick Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, at 10:30 AM, at St. Monica Catholic Church, corner of East Silver Spring Drive and North Santa Monica Blvd., Whitefish Bay. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery will be private for the family. Marion, with brush in hand, gave paintings to support many non-profit fundraisers. Memorials in her name may be made to the charity of your choice.

Rich and I are so sorry to hear this news . Anne Fetherston let me know of it through Facebook as we are out of town . I have fond memories of sleep-overs in high school in the den with walls completely covered in Mrs Coffeys many beautiful paintings. Imagine waking up from a sleeping bag on the floor to see first view her gallery wall ! So glad now that we have 2 pieces of her artwork to always remember her by .

So sorry we missed the service . Our love and condolences to you all
Sincerely , rich and Katie Cattey and family

Sincere condolences for your loss. Marion was a gracious, kind lady. Years ago, at a judcial conference in northern Wisconsin, she learned that I was interested in oil painting, she allowed me to sit beside her while she painted a landscape. Needless to say I was completely impressed. (I don't believe she was 87!)God bless the family.

Lisa, Rob and family. Saw the notice about Marion in the paper today and just sending a brief not of condolence. Lisa - I remember taking care of the kids at your parent's house. They always made me feel so welcome and your ma would have her easel standing in the driveway - I was surprised it never got knocked over with a trike or pedal car... I'll say a prayer for you and your family.

Although I met Marion later on in her life she truly left a huge mark on my heart. She was a wonderful person with the biggest heart and had the most love for her family. I think about you every day Marion. I will never forget all the fun times we have had. I will never forget in the last few days you asked me to help you paint one of your paintings. I wasn't sure how that would work out, but I helped anyway. You turned and looked at me and said "Maybe I should finish this, you are kind of a crummy painter" And we both laughed. You were truly the most creative and amazing person I have ever met. I feel so blessed to have known the Coffeys and Robbins. You are all wonderful people and all truly have hearts of gold. Marion you will be missed by many. May you rest in peace.

My sincere condolence to the family of Mrs. Coffey, I read of her passing this morning, as well as friends of hers that live here at Saint John's on The Lake, and my prayers are with your family during this time, I would like to just reflect the brief moment that I had the opportunity of meeting Mrs. Coffey, she was visiting here at Saint John's, and she stopped at the desk to chat just a bit and she said do you know that I am the Artist that painted the picture that is hanging behind you, Well I stood to my feet and shook hands with an angel of great talent, we have one of her beautiful paintings of the art museum angel wings(as I call it)(smile) here at Saint Johns on The Lake, Right behind my receptionist desk at the South Tower Desk, Thank You Mrs. Coffey
