Tina and I worked together at Restaurant Hama in the late 90s. She and I had many a long day together, and met the challenges of a young and popular restaurant grace and diligence. We took our lunch breaks on the beach at Doctor's Park and more often than not, Lake Michigan itself, to cool ourselves, and sometimes our tempers, then head back to work.
We kept in touch after we both quit working there. One afternoon we had drinks and reminisced of our time working a very stressful job together, we ended up getting tattoos. I have a permanent reminder of that day, of Tina. As many times as I have wandered I have never felt LOST. Only the sense of adventure and breaking out into the unknown. I believe Tina and I shared that feeling.
I have tried to track Tina down during the past decade without luck and am greatly saddened to find that she is wandering where I can't reach her. I would have really liked to catch up. From what I have read from others, she has touched many people and she has been able to wander far and wide. Tina, I will always cherish our time together.

I first met Tina in Colombia where we worked together in 3rd grade for 2 years. We were instant friends as we both had a passion for yoga. She was always up for an adventure, and her laugh was contagious. When I heard she was coming to Dhaka, I was thrilled to have my yoga buddy return and looked forward to new adventures to share with her and having her in my son's life. He still talks about her to this day. She was sweet and kind, yet tough and resilient. This world has experienced the loss of an amazing, wonderful person. I can't express enough how heavy my heart is for her family at this time. Much love! Kristen Cipielewski

We are saddened at the news of Tina's passing but feel privileged at having known her, albeit briefly. She was our son's class teacher in Dhaka and he felt a special bond to her as they were both "newbies" to Dhaka, having arrived in the same week. Her love and care for her class kids was unquestionable and I know the children shall have their little hearts broken at the news that their Ms Tina is no longer with us. Our sincere sympathy to all her family members and thanks for letting the rest of us share your wonderful Tina with you.

I was saddened to hear of Tina's passing. She and I worked together at SIS in Surabaya for several years. She had a strong spirit and was adventurous too. May she find peace.

I remember well when she first arrived at SIS in Surabaya and I liked her straight off. She had a great sense of humour and yet was clearly a sensitive, thinking person and I was instantly drawn to her. We had some wonderful nights out on the town in the early days of her arrival in Surabaya. She was the sort of person you wanted to hug, and you connected with her at once. She is someone I will always remember. Thank you for coming into my life Tina. May you rest in peace. Your old colleague, Graeme
