I remember my father-in-law as a noble man who always exemplified a personal warmth and respect for all people that he was acquainted with. I marveled at his amazing patience and generosity and tried to model his quiet and gentle demeanor. I was amused by his dry wit and impressed by his strong commitment to his family.
When family members were ill, his take was to "do whatever it takes."

His record as a dutiful servant for the public good was established over many years, instilled during his youth and honed through military and civic service. He was dedicated to the betterment of education for others and himself. He reflected an inner joy with his avocations of gardening, rototilling, composting, and recycling. The likes of honorable men like him are rare and sorely missed.

Dear Jane,
I'm so sorry for the loss of your dad. I remember his excitement when he bought the land for the tree farm. He also had a great sense of humor. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Joan, Jane and Lizanne,
I just learned of Clyde's death from Diane. I am so sorry. Clyde and Marian were very close friends in Nekoosa, Wisconsin and we visited after their move to Milwaukee.

I live in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, and the mother of son Don, a good friend of Jane's. He passed away in May, 2009.
I know that Diane, Barb and David join me in expressing our sympathy to you and Clyde's grandchildren.
