Gapinski, John Age 76, of 1011 21st Avenue South, Wisconsin Rapids, WI, died Monday, September 9, 2013, at UW Hospital, Madison, Wisconsin. Memorial Services are 10:30AM, Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. The Rev. Sahayanathan Nathan will officiate. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Church on Saturday from 9:00-10:30AM. John was born December 28, 1936 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Max and Blanch (Banach) Gapinski. He married Mary Ellen Major on October 7, 1961 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. John was a mechanical contractor for Vyron Corp. for many years. John was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was involved at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church where he was a member of their guitar group for thirty-nine years, was a fifty-year member of the Knights of Columbus, was a sixty-year member of the Polish National Alliance and served in the U.S. Army. John was the founder of the White Pine Savage Tribe. John is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen; four children, Kathy (Eugene) Sailer of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, Karen Roth of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, John (Lisl) Gapinski of Ladera Ranch, California and Steve Gapinski of Gary, Indiana; six grandchildren, Jessica, Tory, Amanda, Cali, Samantha and Natalie; one great-grandson, Aaron; three brothers, Tom (Joan) Gapinski of Hales Corners, Wisconsin, Michael (Sue) Gapinski of Colgate, Wisconsin and Peter (Carol) Gapinski of Green Bay, Wisconsin; and three brother and sisters-in-law, Kathy (Dennis) Dowling of Ladera Ranch, California, James (Carol) Major of Sussex, Wisconsin and Barbara (Ron) Weaver of Green Valley, Arizona. John is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and other Favorites. John was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Assumption High School Angel Fund or to a . Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids is handling all arrangements.
