It was a pleasure to serve as Ephraim Yacht Club Director under Jack's guidance as Commodore. I am saddened to hear of his passing but am consoled by fond memories. My condolences and best wishes to Jack's family.

We send our sympathy to all Jack's family and to his friends. It was our pleasure to know him through the Ephraim Yacht Club and we enjoyed his friendship very much. He was so enthusiastic in everything he did, and was willing to help anywhere. When it was time for us to begin interviewing members for the writing of the Ephraim Yacht Club's history, Jack was one of our early interviews. He invited us to have lunch and do the interview at that time. We shouldn't have been surprised to discover that he came with a typewritten agenda of all the things he wanted to tell us! He was so helpful, supplying us with several boxes of really old documents and EYC papers that he had saved. These proved invaluable. We respected him greatly and will miss him very much. I was so very sorry to hear about your loss of Captain Jack. I have many wonderful memories of both Jack and Ruth from our many travels. They were both game for anything and a wonderful addition to any group. Also their many hours spent supporting the EYC and cheering for all of the sailors will never be forgotten. Thank goodness that memories never die! We will miss Jack as we do Ruth. They were the BEST! Martha Sauter
