Wright, John Stewart Bell 90, of Vero Beach, Florida, died May 5, 2013, in Vero Beach. John was born in Bangalore, India March 1, 1923, to English parents Arthur Charles and Annie Brown (Millar) Wright. John was a gentleman, a son, a husband, a father, a grandfather, an uncle, a world traveler, an inventor, a trophy-winning golfer and tennis player, a corporate executive, and a business owner. Raised in England, John joined the Royal Air Force on his eighteenth birthday. His rank was Flight Lieutenant, and he served from 1941 to 1946. He flew 41 missions, was shot down three times, and held prisoner of war by the Germans for three months. In 1954, John immigrated to the United States with his wife, Barbara, and daughters, Claire and Penelope. After working for Milprint, Inc. for eight years, Mr. Wright founded Visual Systems, Inc. in Milwaukee, and was president and chief executive officer from 1962-1985 and chairman of the Board of Directors from 1985-1990. John built his business of printing in the visual communications field into a firm with more than 100 employees. He invented unique ways to use the products he developed, and held 15 patents in his name. Member of Rotary Club (chairman of Milwaukee chapter 1979-83, senior citizens' committee 1979-83); Tripoli Country Club 1966-2002 (president 1973-74); River Tennis Club (president 1977-78). John lived in Whitefish Bay, WI for 33 years, and resided at 6115 Lake Drive Court from 1967-1987. John began spending winters in Florida in 1987; from 2006 as a full-time resident. He owned homes in Vero Beach for more than seventeen years, first in the Moorings, and the last twelve years in Indian River Club. John is survived by his brother, David Wright; his children; Claire Ann Wilkinson (David), Penelope Jane Stetz, Deborah Sue Dunlap, Douglas John Wright (Debra Bley); and his grandchildren; Emily Dunlap and Lauren Dunlap. Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his first wife of 41 years, Barbara (1986), and his second wife/girlfriend of 22 years, Eileen Erdevig Liebman (2010); his sister Margaret (2011), brothers Hugh, Peter, and Douglas, and son-in-law Jon Stetz (2005). John will join his first wife in the columbarium at Christ Church in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin. Services will be held at Christ Church, 5655 N. Lake Drive, Whitefish Bay, on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at 11:00 AM, with a reception following in the parish hall. No flowers, please.
