Notice Condolences

Sinclair, Richard Craig Passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Kathy's Hospice at the age of 87. Loving husband of the late Joyce (nee Pieper). Dear father of Bonnie (James) Strachota, Marifran Sinclair, Scott Sinclair and the late Tom Sinclair. Caring grandfather of Rebecca Ball and adoring great "papa" of Isabella Santoro. Richard is further survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins for whom he had great affection. Dick was a member of the American Field Service Ambulance Corp during WWII serving in Italy, Holland and France. In 1947, Dick and 17 of his former AFS drivers founded the Milwaukee Chapter of the American Field Service International Student Exchange Program to promote peace and cultural understanding. Through their vision, AFS Intercultural Programs emerged as a pioneer high school exchange program that continues to thrive today. Dick was a 1949 graduate of the University of Michigan in Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture. He worked for the Dept. of City Development in Bay City, MI, Racine and Milwaukee, WI. Dick enjoyed 23 years working for the firm of Howard Needles Tammen and Biergendorf until his retirement in 1992. Dick was an avid volunteer and active in his community. His kind and generous spirit and good humor will be missed by his many friends and neighbors. Dick's family wishes to express a special thanks to Dr. Corey Shamah, the oncology staff at Aurora Medical Center and to Kathy's Hospice for their care and support. Visitation will be held Monday, March 5 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at St. Robert Catholic Church, corner of N. Farwell and E. Capitol Dr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Wisconsin Memorial Park. Memorials in Dick's name can be made to American Field Service, 1 Whitehall St., New York, NY 10004, Stars and Stripes, P.O.
