Richard Thornton Notice
Thornton, Richard Age 66, of Waukesha, passed away at home unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 9, 2012. He was born on January 27, 1946, in Madison, WI. Richard attended Wisconsin School of Electronics. He was employed at AT&T as an outside Plant Engineer for 28 years. Richard was in the 101st Airborne Division and was a Vietnam War Veteran. He was also a member of the American Legion. Richard enjoyed life and the people around him. His charming sense of humor made people laugh. He was a fun person to be around. Richard's favorite season was the fall. He loved watching the Wisconsin Badger Football team and was an avid deer and turkey hunter. He was definitely an outdoors man and enjoyed spending time at his "second home", his hunting land in Barneveld. Richard was survived by his wife Diane; two children, Lisa (Bart) Bell of Hartford and Kristi (Ole) Hansen of Hayward; two grandchildren, Brady and Brett of Hartford; his mother, Nellie Stormer of Monona, WI; his brothers; Bill (Penny) Thornton of Madison, and Jack (Donna) Thornton of Florida and several nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his family, many friends, and hunting buddies. Visitation Tuesday, October 16, 10 AM-12 PM at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 380 Bluemound Rd., Waukesha (4 blks south of I-94, corners of J and JJ), with Funeral Service at 12 noon.
