Robert C. "Bob" Tubesing Notice
Tubesing, Robert C. "Bob" July 19, 2013. Age 92. Robert "Bob" was born in Milwaukee, WI, the son of the late William and Bertha Tubesing on July 1, 1921. He is survived by his loving wife of over 66 years, Dorothy; their three daughters, Jeanne (Roman) Klatt Stilp, Karen (Peter) Wood, and Donna (Joe McCormick) Helm; their son, Richard (Carole), and their three chiildren Laura, John and David. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, William (Cora); his in-laws, Fred and Florence Rust; and his son-in-law, Daniel Klatt. Robert graduated from Wauwatosa High School in 1939. He served in the Air Force, 390th group during World War II. He attended the University of Wisconsin. He was united in marriage to Dorothy (nee Rust) on June 20, 1947. Robert was a general contractor in the Milwaukee area for many years. He was president of the Mason Contractors Association in Milwaukee, serving as its National Vice President and Treasurer. He was a trustee of the Milwaukee Building Trades Pension Fund for 20 years and served as Chairman of its Investment Committee and its Mortgage Committee. He also was a Trustee of the Bricklayer's International Pension Fund. He served as President of the Master Builders. Bob was a member of the Associated General Contractors of Greater Milwaukee and a recipient of its Pioneer Award. He was named by the Allied Construction Employers Association as their Construction Man of the Year in 1976. He was on the Board of Directors for West Allis Central Bank for over 25 years. Robert was a member of the Tripoli Shrine and a charter member of its Motor Corps. He belonged to both Masonic Lodges F. & A.M. West Allis Lodge #291 and Elmbrook Lodge #354, Scottish Rite of Milwaukee, West Allis Chapter of O.E.S., and the American Legion Post #449. He was a member of Reformation Lutheran Church of Brookfield. Robert was a devoted father who loved to travel. His idea of a "family vacation" continued long after his children left the nest. His last family vacation (for all 13 of us) was to Alaska. He continually tried to entice his children to join them on their journeys, taking whoever was willing and available. Luckily, his wife always seemed ready and had a suitcase packed. They were affectionately known as "the vagabonds," and were often asked when they called where they were calling from. Visitation at REFORMATION LUTHERAN CHURCH, 915 Adelmann Ave., Brookfield, on Monday, July 22 (TOMORROW), at 9:30AM until time of Funeral Service at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Reformation Lutheran Church of Brookfield or Childrens Dyslexia Center - Milwaukee.
