Allen, Robert L. "Bob" Born to Eternal Life May 4, 2007, at the age of 75. Beloved husband of Eleanor. Loving father of the late Kenneth R., Tim Allen and Cathi (Peter) Fox. Cherished grandpa of Erica Allen, Sarah, Maria and Rachel Fox, Robert Allen, Kathryn Weiland, Jennifer and Adam Allen. Proud great-grandpa of Derrick and Abby. Beloved son of Lucille and the late Robert Allen. Dear brother of Thomas (Zita), William (Edie), James (Dolores) and the late Jerry Allen. Also lovingly remember by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Bob began his love of sports as an All-American 2-miler at Marquette University. Then he lived his dream by becoming the publicity man for the Milwaukee Braves from 1953-1965. In 1968 he worked as the publicity man for the Milwaukee Bucks. Bob wrote a syndicated weekly sports column "Bob Allen on Sports" for 27 weekly newspapers for 30 years, and covered the Milwaukee Brewers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Marquette University Basketball for UPI from 1976-1984. Bob then worked as a sports agent for many professional athletes, including many Hall of Famers, and wrote the book "The 500 Home Run Club" published in 1999. Visitation Tuesday, May 8, at the funeral home from 4-8PM. Visitation Wednesday at St. John Vianney Church (1755 N. Calhoun Rd.) Brookfield, WI, from 10AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM. Private family graveside services at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Bob's name to the Ronald McDonald House or Aurora VNA Zilber Family Hospice. The family would like to thank the staff at Zilber Family Hospice in a special way for their kind and compassionate care. Bob's kind heart and passion for stories endeared him to all he met, we're sure he's bending St. Peter's ear right now.
