Temkin, Sherwood Earl 1930-2011 Born in Milwaukee, Sherwood "Sher" was the middle of 3 brothers, Blair (Bud) and Robert (Bob), born to Louis Temkin and Lee Klinger. Co-Captain of the Shorewood High School football and tennis teams, Sher received his MBA at the University of Wisconsin Madison. After a stint in the U.S. Army, he joined with his elder brother Bud to found Port Shell Molding, a foundry in Port Washington. In 1957, he married the love of his life, Libby Lindenberg. For 54 years, Sher and Libby have been admired for their grace and skill on the dance floor. As Port Shell Molding grew, Sher and Bud moved operations to Pewaukee and established a second business, Tembro Engineering. For over 30 years, the two brothers would establish themselves amongst the most prominent manufacturer's representatives in the Midwest. Libby and Sher had 3 children, Robyn, Kim, and Todd. When Robyn lost her battle with malignant melanoma in 1981, Sher and Libby established the "Robyn Temkin Memorial Cancer Fund" at Sinai Samaritan Hospital, later Aurora. The fund has offered free cancer screenings to thousands of Milwaukeeans and financed ground breaking research. Years later, Sher and Libby would establish the Temkin Children's Theater at the Milwaukee JCC. He has contributed generously to many other organizations. Known for his honesty, integrity, and philosophy of "doing things the right way," Sher's greatest passion, by far, was his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Sher loved tennis, golf, and bridge. Another favorite activity has been travelling around the world with Libby, Kim, her husband Richard Taylor, Todd, his wife Pilar Temkin, and his four lovely grandchildren Benjamin and Olivia Taylor and Nicholas and Elyse Temkin. Although Sher and Libby split time between their home in Fox Point and a second home in Boca Raton, Florida, he never wavered in his passion for the Badgers, Bucks, Brewers, and his beloved Green Bay Packers. Todd, Kim, Libby, his sister-in-law Lee, and surviving brother, Bob, watched Super Bowl XLV at Sher's side. Sher passed away after a long bout with mesothelioma, a Packer jersey at his side.
