Steven Gleesing Obituary

Gleesing, Steven Lee Age 50, of Stafford, VA died Tuesday, September 23, 2008, at Mary Washington Hospital. Born in West Allis, Wisconsin, he was the son of Lora Lee Palen Gleesing and the late Bert Roy Gleesing. Gunnery Sgt. Gleesing honorably retired from the United States Marine Corps after 21 years of faithful service. He continued to serve the United States and Marine Corps through his employer Unitech. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 290, and the Harley Owners Group. Survivors in addition to his mother are his wife, Paula Gleesing; his daughter, Christina Gleesing; his son, Bryan Gleesing, a brother, Dennis Albert Gleesing; two sisters, Dawn Marie Lytle and Amy Beth Gleesing; his companion, Darcy McCool; and many other relatives and dear friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 4, 2008, at Underwood Memorial Baptist Church, 1916 Wauwatosa Avenue, Wauwatosa. Family and friends welcome at the church one hour prior to service for visitation. Interment will be at a later date in Highland Memorial National Cemetery, New Berlin, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Trudy Clifton 113 Tall Pines Avenue Locust Grove, VA 22508.

Sgt Gleesing was my drill instructor from platoon 1039 MCRD in 1986. So sorry to hear this. Not the best photo but it is him and I.
