Theresa Mahan Obituary

Mahan, Theresa I. Age 95, of Genesee, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2011. She was born on December 29, 1915, in Cleveland, Ohio, where she was an active member of the Hungarian Community and enjoyed entertaining with her lovely singing voice. She loved dancing and shared many compelling stories of her life during the prohibition years. On April 22, 1935, she married James G. Mahan whom has preceded her in death. Theresa was a fabulous cook and entertainer and loved by all who had the pleasure of sitting at her table. She is survived by three children James Mahan of Milwaukee, Mark (Sandy) Mahan of Surprise, AZ and Karen Mahan of Genesee, grandchildren James (Nadine), Susan, Lisa, Thomas, Mark (Sara), Michael, Rebecca and four great-grandchildren, niece Carol (Dr. Joseph) Martuch of Cleveland, OH, beloved feline companion King Tut, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband James, son Gerald, sister Rose and daughter-in-law Dorothy. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 17, 11:00 AM, at Holy Cross Cemetery Chapel, 7301 Nash St., Milwaukee. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM in the Cemetery Chapel on Thursday. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer's Association, 620 South 76th St., Suite 160, Milwaukee, WI 53214-1549.
