I had the opportunity to get know Dean while playing chess at the Southwest Chess Club. Through our many conversations over the chess board and off of the chess board I found out how much of great guy he was. I will miss our conversations before our nightly games but I truly know he is in a better place know! Rest in Peace Dean.

Like John and Scott, I was lucky enough to be stationed with Dean in Germany and Korea (83-88). Without mincing words, Dean was a great person, one I was glad to be able to call a friend. It truly makes me sad to know he's no longer with us. He'll be missed.

I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Dean. He was a great person who had a passion for life and his hometown of Big Ben, Wisconsin; he would always have a smile on his face when he talked about Big Ben, his family, Danny's, and something he called “raw beef and onion!” He said this delicacy was a must at family functions/events; I was stationed with Dean in Germany from 1983 to 1986; not only did we work together but we lived in the same dorm for a while and did many off duty activities together (volksmarching, touring/sightseeing, softball, bowling, etc); RIP my friend.

To All Who Loved Dean;
May you find comfort in knowing that you are in the hearts and prayers of many as you grieve the loss of your beloved Dean.
I remember Dino as a young boy who would, at times, accompany Kilbee on his route. He was kind, bright and well mannered. And like his Grandfather enjoyed a good story and a laugh.
May God hold you close as you grieve and always. God bless you.
