Margaret Anne "Panne" Casper Notice
Casper, Margaret Anne "Panne" Died peacefully on Monday, April 7, 2014, at her home in The Fairfax senior living center in Ft. Belvoir, VA. She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Philip Casper in 1999. Panne (nee Saris) was born in Beloit, WI on June 26, 1927. She was the daughter of Ralph and Anne Saris, and the younger sister of Joseph. She is survived by her three sons, John of Milwaukee; Joseph, and his wife Ellen (nee Terry); and Philip and his wife Joan (nee Kun), both of Alexandria, VA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Margaret, Theodore, and Katherine. Panne graduated from St. Mary's Academy of Notre Dame, IN, in 1945, and the University of Wisconsin in 1949. After graduation, Panne moved to Milwaukee, and worked at Capitol Airlines, and then MacNeil & Moore. Married to Philip Casper on August 22, 1953 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Beloit, Panne started her family. Later, she became a licensed realtor with Ogden & Co., and then Coldwell Banker, and Shorewest. In this time, Panne loved helping families find the right homes. Panne also volunteered for causes important to her such as St. Eugene and Lumen Christi parishes, as well as Meals on Wheels, and the St Catherine Residence for Women. The family will greet friends on Saturday, April 12, at Old St. Mary's Catholic Church, 836 North Broadway, Milwaukee, from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM with Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations in Panne's memory be made to the Wisconsin Province of the Society of Jesus, 3400 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee, WI, 53208-3841; or the St. Catherine Residence, Attn: Resource Development, 1032 East Knapp Street, Milwaukee, WI 53202 In life, Panne was a kind, calm and supportive wife and homemaker. In death, she leaves behind sons who are grateful for such a wonderful example, and for the best Mom any boys could have ever hoped for!
