1938 - 2014 Notice Condolences Flowers
Burany, Susana M. Age 75, surrounded by love, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 17, 2014, after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Susana was born the 11th of 13 children on May 23rd, 1938 in Romania and moved to Hungary at a young age. She grew up there until she escaped to America during the communist revolution after spending her 18th birthday in a Yugoslavian refuge camp. She arrived in the Unites States in 1957 at the age of 19. She worked various jobs until she married in 1959 and had three children. She later went to work for Briggs and Stratton full-time and retired 22 years later. While working full-time and raising her three children as a single mother, she was able to earn her GED in 1987 at the age of 49. Susana was very involved in church and loved gardening. She was a wonderful cook and she was the kitchen chairperson for the holiday folk fair. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Istvan and Emma Nagy, her son Peter Burany Jr., and ten brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, Stephen Burany (Angie Zoll), her daughter Susan (Burany) and Glenn Korn; 5 grandchildren, Kristopher and Melissa Korn; Jennifer, Stephen and Matthew Burany; a sister and brother; and numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to her many specialists, doctors, nurses, and aides for their care, support, and understanding. Susana was an amazingly strong woman and constant support to her family, children, and friends. She will be best remembered for her kindness and her willingness to share her life experiences and struggles. A life celebration and visitation will be held on Sat., April 26, 2014, from 9:00-11:00AM at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 15250 W. National Ave., New Berlin, followed by a procession to Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 16000 W. National Ave. for 11:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in the parish cemetery followed by fellowship and refreshments in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Agrace Hospice, , or a living memorial.
