George F. Kraus Jr. Notice
Kraus, George F., Jr. Uncle George Entered into Eternal Life on June 5, 2014, at the age of 88. Resident of Bayside. Loving brother of Dorothy (Jack) Thompson, Robert (Dolores) Kraus, and of the late Bette Lu (Robert) Fountain and Terry (George) Pandl. Beloved and cherished uncle, great-uncle, and great-great-uncle of over one hundred nieces and nephews. Further survived by numerous other relatives and many great friends. Uncle George will be remembered as a man who treasured his family, practiced his faith, loved his country, and adored the Green Bay Packers. A veteran of the United States Navy, one of The Greatest Generation, and a true patriot, he was a steadfast believer in the Constitution. The consummate bartender, he cursed anyone who ordered an ice cream drink, especially a Brandy Alexander. Not the greatest gambler, he ran the most infamous Super Bowl Pool in the city of Milwaukee. His nieces and nephews will remember him with a smile, a handshake, and a "nobody's perfect." George's family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nurses at the VA Medical Center and to the wonderful staff at the Elizabeth Residence in Bayside. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 10, from 4:00 to 5:00 PM at St. Monica Catholic Church, corner of E. Silver Spring Drive and N. Santa Monica Blvd., Whitefish Bay, followed by the celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at 5:00 PM. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery will be private for the family. Memorials in George's name may be made to St. Monica Parish, 160 East Silver Spring Drive, Whitefish Bay, WI 53217.
