Alois J. "Louie" Birchbauer Notice
Birchbauer, Alois J. "Louie" Age 86 of Wauwatosa. Entered into Eternal Life on June 25, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. Loving and precious husband for 65 years of Lillian (nee Grohotolsky). He is survived by his children Louis (Marilyn) Birchbauer PhD, Christine Birchbauer, Robert (Cynthia) Birchbauer and John (Darlene) Birchbauer. Proud grandfather of Brian, Angela, Lori, Jeffrey, Robert, Adrienne and 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his niece Mary (James) Donovan and other family and many friends. His career encompassed a variety of achievements with Gettleman Brewery, Graf Beverages, Beer Capital, WI Restaurant Association and in retirement VA Hospital, Wauwatosa School System, Hyatt Hotel and the Pfister Hotel. Louie treasured his wife, family and friends. In addition he played the piano accordion with his sons in their original band "Louie & His Lads". Louie was also involved with the Boy Scouts, Wauwatosa Band Boosters and was past president of Labor Union Local 220. Pastimes included a good game of Sheepshead with his cousins or spoiling his companion Peaches with treats. He always had time for others. The family would like to like to thank Deborah Schlagenhauf, Mike & Debbie Guzinski, Phil Bain and Jeff and Sue Syvock for their loving friendship and care over all these years. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 2 at the Funeral Home from 4 PM until time of vigil service at 6:45 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, July 3 at 12 PM at St. Mary's Visitation Parish (1260 Church Street, Elm Grove) with committal service to follow at Highland Memorial Park.
