Gloria G. Walsh Notice
Walsh, Gloria G. Passed away peacefully on July 3, 2014, at the Congregational Home in Brookfield, following an extended illness. She was 84 years old. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, James, and by their two children, Thomas (Karen) Walsh and Janet Schalmo. Also survived by her brother Charles (Eleanor) Sutcliffe; eight grandchildren Thomas, Sara and Katherine Schalmo, Brian (Jessica) and Steven (Sammy) Walsh, and Austin, Tyler, and Hewitt Walsh; and daughter-in-law Laura (Gene) Wendt. Preceded in death by her son David and her parents Charlie and Eva Sutcliffe. Gloria always had a beautiful smile and a great sense of humor. She will be missed by a wide circle of friends here in Wisconsin and in Sarasota, Florida where she and Jim spent much of their time. A 1952 graduate of UW-Madison, she had a variety of interests, including travel (several European trips), reading, bridge, golf, sewing and music. Time spent with her family meant a great deal to her. She was a long-time member of both Westmoor Country Club and University Park Country Club in Sarasota. She also was a supporter of the Milwaukee Repertory Theater for many years. Please join the family on Wednesday, July 9 at First Congregational Church, 1511 Church Street, Wauwatosa, to celebrate Gloria's life. Visitation will be between 4:00 and 5:45 PM with the funeral service at 6:00 PM. A reception will follow services. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the First Congregational Church, Wauwatosa, to the Congregational Home, or to a .
