Jeffrey David Honkamp Notice
Honkamp, Jeffrey David Jeff ended a long battle with multiple addictions on July 10, 2014. His family, friends, and many acquaintances will remember a vivacious soul, full of energy and love. Jeff joins his mother Nancy and sister Ann in Eternal Life. Dear son of Michael R. Honkamp, and brother of Michael II (Melissa) and Douglas (fiancée Paula), and uncle to Daniella Marie. Jeff leaves behind a loving family of many uncles, aunts, and cousins. Born in Milwaukee in 1970, Jeff was the ultimate baby brother and lived for rough housing and dessert. Growing up in Elm Grove, Jeff loved to play outside and his competitive spirit was notorious in his neighborhood. The softer side of Jeff was a sensitive and deeply caring person with an incredible sense of humor that infected those around him. He loved sports, and often used conversations about his favorite teams, the Packers and the Brewers, to relate to family members when he was struggling. He graduated from Marquette University High School in 1989 with a combination of determination and guile. Without a doubt, the first person Jeff would look for in the afterlife would be Vince Lombardi, a hero and inspiration to Jeff throughout his life. Jeff began struggling with substance abuse early on, and made many attempts to move beyond addiction. It is a miracle he experienced life for nearly 44 years, and his family are friends are grateful for the time they had with him. Jeff's family and friends would like to offer their gratitude to all those recovery professionals and friends who made Jeff a part of their lives. To Jeff's friends in recovery, please know that the Honkamp family is cheering passionately for your success. Visitation will be held Monday, July 21, at the Funeral Home, from 5 PM - 7 PM. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated before a family graveside service. In celebration of Jeff's life, we ask that you celebrate the time you have with your family and friends and give extra hugs to loved ones on troubled paths. Memorials to the Meta House are appreciated. (Please include Jeff's name)
