Lisa Brown Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 25, 2017.
Brown, Lisa Marie 1982 - 2017 After a five-year struggle with Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome and Gastroparesis, Lisa Marie Brown earned her angel wings on Saturday, January 21st at the age of 34. Lisa is survived by her loving husband, Patrick Brown; Father, Alan Bingenheimer; Mother and Step-Father, Patricia and John Neuhauser; Mother-in-Law, Kathleen McManus; Father-in-Law, Jeffrey Brown; Sister-in-Law, Elizabeth Brown; Aunt, Mary Henneberry (nee Conerton); Uncle, James (Paulette) Conerton. Lisa is also survived by cousins: Godmother, Julie (Terry) Klug (nee Henneberry) of Powderhorn, CO.; Godfather, Daniel (Charlene) Henneberry; Michael (Lisa) Henneberry; Steve (girlfriend Terri) Henneberry of Thousand Oaks, CA; Scott (Jenny) Conerton; Dale (Jane) Conerton; and also, all of the extended McManus & Brown family members. Lisa was born in Brookfield, WI on October 30, 1982. She graduated from Brookfield East High School in 2000 and received her BA in Human Services/Substance Abuse Counseling from Ottawa University in 2007. She and Patrick were married on May 2, 2010 at Elmbrook Church in Brookfield. Lisa was very artistic and spent many hours in her art room creating jewelry and specialty cards for her relatives and friends. Before she became ill, Lisa loved to travel. When she was a model, Lisa traveled to Italy on two separate occasions with her mom, Pat, and had always hoped to return there with Patrick. She also traveled several times to Mexico and Jamaica, as well as many cities within the U.S. As Lisa's illness progressed, she spent countless hours working to bring awareness to SMAS and Gastroparesis. She accomplished this by corresponding on the SMAS and Gastroparesis Support Board on Face Book; making her own YouTube video "Be Brave SMAS Warriors"; interviewing with local and international media and having two articles appear in People Magazine. By sharing information of her personal experiences with these diseases, Lisa was personally able to help several young women to be properly diagnosed - three of which were successfully treated at Cleveland Clinic where Lisa spent several months in 2015. Please join the family in a Celebration of Lisa's Life at the Funeral Home on Saturday, January 28th between 2:00PM - 4:45PM. Funeral service will commence at 5:00PM. In typical "Lisa Brown Fashion", Lisa planned her own Celebration Of Life Ceremony. She asked that her service be similar to how she lived her life when she was healthy: vibrant, positive and colorful with lots of sparkles! She requested that people please do not wear black, but rather bright and cheerful colors - especially purple which is the color chosen to represent SMAS Awareness. Also, "National SMAS Awareness Day" happens to be on Saturday, January 28th. Lisa used to be known for her sense of humor and quick wit. Because of this, she requested people to please share upbeat and funny stories about her life. This was particularly important to her because laughter and good times had been absent in her life so much during her long illness. In lieu of flowers, Lisa has requested that donations please be made to "Elmbrook Humane Society" or "Specialty Purebred Cat Rescue" where she and Patrick had adopted their two wonderful cats. Interment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield. A very special "Thank You" to Season's Hospice and their wonderful, compassionate staff. Lisa's Season's nurse and a music therapist were at Lisa's home the afternoon and evening when Lisa passed away. I know that Lisa was aware they were there and could hear the beautiful music.

I was an Uber driver when I met Patrick when he was traveling on business. He told me about her story and I have come to have a deep respect for Lisa and Patrick. She was an amazing person and Patrick was amazing for supporting her through all her struggles. I know she will be missed, but I hope her family will find peace knowing that she is with God and free of pain. Prayers for the whole family.
