Kathryn Bartling Obituary

Bartling, Kathryn Ann Age 90, of Platteville, WI, died at 3 AM Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at Southwest Health Center in Platteville. Funeral Services will be at 11 AM Saturday, August 7, 2010, at St. Mary's Catholic Churchy in Platteville. Friends may call from 9 AM until 10:45 AM Saturday, August 7, 2010, at the Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home, 1245 N. Water St., in Platteville. Burial will be in St. Clement Cemetery in Lancaster, WI, at a later date. Kathryn was born on May 25, 1920, in Lancaster, WI, the daughter of Arthur and Edna (Greany) Zenz. She married Glenn Bartling, and he preceded her in death on July 4, 1997. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, and Cardinal Stritch University. She taught school at Beaver Dam High School and also for the Wauwatosa School System. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and C.C.W. in Platteville, the Wisconsin Retired Teachers Association, the National Education Association and the Parent Teacher Association. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Bartling of Wauwatosa, WI and Ellen Bartling of Valders, WI; three sons, William (Midge) Bartling of Merrill, WI, Thomas (Sue) Bartling of Janesville, WI, and Patrick (LuAnn) Bartling of Dousman, WI; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and a special nephew, Robert (Jan) Lintvedt. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, and a daughter, Ann Tiedt.
