Ross B. Shingledecker

Notice Condolences

Shingledecker, Ross B. Ross Shingledecker, of Caledonia, was born into Eternal Life on September 26, 2011, at the age of 88. Born in Clarion County, Pennsylvania, March 15, 1923, to Arthur and Della (Sell) Shingledecker. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps at Iwo Jima in WW II. Ross married Evelyn Bauer on March 2, 1946 in Milwaukee. He graduated from Marquette University in 1950 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked at Ladish Company for thirty-eight years retiring in 1988. Ross was active in ASM and AIME professional societies. He was a long-time leader in the Boy Scouts of America, and received the distinguished honor of the Silver Beaver Award. Ross loves and is loved by his wife of 65 years, Evelyn, his seven sons, Ross (Mary) of Greensboro, NC; Clark (Marion) of Dayton, OH; Joel (Helen) of Milford, MI; Kurt (Marjo) of Yorkville, IL; Blair (Nanci) of Franklin; Evan (Janice) of Caledonia; Luke (Joann) of Yorktown, VA, his three daughters, Sara (Doug) Evje of Mt. Pleasant; Mary (Scott) Rolfson of Franklin; and Jane (Greg) Hammond of Mt. Pleasant, thirty-two grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his brothers Laird (Marilyn), Donald (Karen), brother-in-law Arthur Bauer (Wilma), nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, October 15, 11AM, at St. Louis Parish, 13207 Hwy. G, Caledonia. You are welcome to gather with the family in church at 10:00 AM preceding the Mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial to Saint Louis Parish or Saint Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee is suggested.
