Our deepest sympathy to the Preuss family on your loss. I remember from little girl on being greeted by Mr. Preuss at FTD conventions and other floral gatherings. He was always very kind. And, my parents respected him as a strong competitor that loved the floral industry. Our thoughts are with you during this time. Heidi Locker-Scheer, Bruce & Tiffany Scheer

Dear Barbara,

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers during this time. I only found out about Alan's death last night, and am sorry that I was not able to attend. I was Blessed to have met you both at Millie's Birthday party. What an amazing man! In one evening, he opened his heart to share with me part of his life in such a fun and gentle way. I will remember his story-telling and humor that evening! The stories of you, Millie and Alan and the 'soldiers' from your youth! The stories of him in the Army and the opportunities to pass along his love of flowers! We laughed until we cried. His name is synonymous with the Floral Industry! What an accomplishment in one's life. . to be remembered by many, for the good things that he has done with his life. It's one thing to leave a legacy to be remembered by, it's another to have left a part of his heart with others! You are very Blessed to have loved a man who has done both!

I will think of you and him when I look at the night sky and see the 'pinholes' that angels use as they shine through to let us know they are in heaven, and are happily 'peeking in' on us! Letting us know that they are OK!

May God's peace be with you during this time and His Angels wings be giving you hugs, just when you need them!

How much fun we had all those years ago serving on different boards together. You were always there with a few words of encouragement
and to offer any help. When all the old gang gathered your name always came up. I remember helping in the basement at Mayfair and
shocked to come out to a snow storm. What a sense of humor you
had, and a quick smile. You will be remembered!

I was deeply saddened to hear of my first employer's death. Alan hired me as his first high-school student employee back in 1962. I have never forgotten the gentle nature he shared with everyone he met. He even arranged for my out of state wedding flowers.

May God's deep and abiding grace and peace find and follow each of you as you say goodbye to Alan. I am unable to attend the visitation or funeral as I am teaching during that time. Know that you will be held in my heart that day, as well as in the days to come. always with love, Angela (Alesci)

My deepest sympathy to the family. Alan & I did business for many years and we were good friends. One thing I remember was that Alan was one of the strongest guys I ever knew. I remember one day, probably in 1968 or 1969,Alan carried over a 300 lb. cash register from the basement to the first floor in his floral shop in Mayfair. I have many good memories over the many years we knew each other. He will be missed.

Sincerely,

Chuck
