Dear Yvonne and Family,

With deepest feelings, may I offer my condolences on the passing of Les. At this difficult time, it is hard to know the right words to say. One of my favorite bible passages for comfort after a loved one has passed is from John, Chapter 14, verse 2. Jesus reminds the apostles that he is leaving them to prepare a place for them in His Father's house which has many rooms. I hope you will find comfort and strength to face the days ahead. May God bless you and bring you peace.

I'm so sorry for your loss Mrs. C. and family. Back in 1971 Mr. C was my 5th grade teacher at Algonquin Elementary school. He was a very good man and the best teacher I've ever known. My most vivid memory of him was the Christmas Concert at school. I'm positive they sang "Do You Hear What I Hear" every year, but we sure thought we were the first and the only. I still clearly see him leaning against the wall with a smile on his face as we all cheerfully and loudly sang..."with a voice as big as Mr. C's"! He was a joy and he will truly be missed. God Bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. But, be assured he's now singing with the angels.

No matter the "stage" of Les' cancer, he was always filled with hope. He was truly a beautiful example in which we all could follow in our sufferings. He knew that the Lord was with him and watching over him. Now his suffering is over and he is resting in the arms of the One who created him and loves him. He will be missed by all who knew him, but his memories will always be with us. I will miss him at daily Mass, his smiling face, his gentle words, and his name for me...Molly (a name that only my dad used for me). May God comfort you, Yvonne, and your family during these difficult days. May you feel His peace, His love, and His hope in your lives. God bless you all...

Thank you, Mr. C...you made a difference.

Dear Ciesemeier family, I am truly sorry for your loss. It has been forty-three years since I sat in Mr. C's fifth grade Algonquin classroom, but he has never been forgotten. I can honestly say that I have thought of him often over the years, mostly when I sent my own daughters to school and hoped they were fortunate enough to have the positive student/teacher experience that I had. I remember he made school fun, and he even allowed me the priviledge of giving the weekly spelling test many times during the course of that school year. Funny the things you remember after forty-three years. Good things. Tim Moriarty Mukwonago, WI

After living a lifetime with the same person, it's hard to say goodbye. Les was a magnificent person. He lived life to the fullest; he loved his family and his many friends; he was also ready to volunteer and to help when he could. He will be missed not only by his family but also by the Palm Hill community. When Karen and I came to Palm Hill in the fall of 2004, you and Les were among the five people we met. Karen fondly remembers Les telling her she was a saint for teaching first graders. He is etched in our memories.
The last time I talked with Les, he asked that I pray, not for him, but for you.

I'm really going to miss my most favorite and most fun uncle! I have only the best memories of him from my childhood. As a kid it was always fun to go over to my aunt and uncle's house because I knew my uncle would find a surprise quarter in my pants pocket! Christmas memories are of course my favorite - the presents were great, but the FUNNIES were the BEST! I still miss the "tacky" lights and the flashlights. I am convinced Grandma and Grandpa Wagner were waiting for Uncle Les when he crossed over, and Mrs. C. was there ready to be with her son again. I will miss Uncle Les so much, and I am so grateful we had that one last family reunion with all of us together, and my girls got to know him too. We love you, Uncle Les!

Dear Yvonne and Family,
We are heartsick at the loss of Les in our lives. He has always been a strong role model for us and a trusted friend who we could always count on for love and support. Our lives will never be the same without him. Our memories are filled with fun times with our families camping in Wisconsin, taking our Corvette's to car shows in WI and IL and getting together to celebrate family life events.
It is because of Les and you, that we moved to Palm Hill and have enjoyed 4 wonderful years of fun and friendship in the this beautiful part of the world. As we look around here, we see evidence of Les's hard work all around us from him helping to make the decisions about the signs at the entrances to our park, to starting the Bicycle Club, working each year as the Chairman of the Electronics Committee on our Bazaar Fundraiser, and serving on the South Recreation Board and for several years as the Sports Director. He also served a 2 year term as the President of the Palm Hill Men's Golf Association, grilled hot dogs at the monthly mixed scrambles, and for many years personally made all the plaques for those who made a hole-in-one on our golf course. Because of his history of fairness and dedication in the park, Les has also been an important part of the Palm Hill Buildings and Grounds Committee.
We will cherish the photos and memories we have of all of us together enjoying each others friendships and shared values. It is an honor to have known such a fine, caring child of God, and we thank God for this gift to us.
We pray God is with you and your family, Yvonne, and that you feel His comfort and strength. Because of our faith, we know Les is with the Lord and at peace, and knowing that brings us peace, too.
Love to you all,
Thom and Shari Brown
