Bob Petruska Notice
Petruska, Bob Passed away peacefully on May 17, 2012, at the age of 82. Bob was born in Milwaukee, the son of the late Peter and Eileen (Toth) Petruska. He moved to Lake Mills in 1937. He married Barbara Moore in 1948. Bob played football and basketball for the University of Wisconsin Madison. He was recruited by the Green Bay Packers and later played for the Wausau Muskies. Bob taught physical education classes and coached at Waupun, Kaukauna, Brookfield, and Lake Mills High Schools. He coached two State Championships in baseball and girls track. Bob played in the All State Football game in 1947 and then later coached an All State Football team in 1978. Bob also coached the Madison Mustang semi-pro football team. He was president of the WIAA 1970-1974. Bob was inducted into the Wisconsin Football Coaches Hall of Fame in 1983.Bob is survived by his wife, Barbara; four children, Wendy (Steven) Steve, Scott (Liz) Petruska, Jayne Petruska, and Gwen (Brent) Hering; eight grandchildren, Travis and Chad Steve, Kelly, Samantha and Eloise Petruska, Drew Kibbe, Beau and Denay Hering; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Orthner and Jaxon Steve; two sisters, Eileen Engsberg and Susan (Chuck) Conrad; other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM, at the Lake Mills High School gymnasium on Saturday, May 26, 2012. If desired, memorials may be made to the Dick Soper Fund, established by the class of 1947, which honors a high school senior
