I was on the committee which recommended tenure for Sami. He deserved it.
He sure loved to fish. On one occasion he presented me with a fine salmon he had caught. It was delicious!
He was an engaging person with much charm. My condolences to all his loved ones.

I will never forget his introduction in class 20+ years ago, "If you complete my class thinking the same way you did at the beginning...then I have failed you as a professor." You certainly did not fail me. I completed your class and took a part of you which continues to live on in my heart.
