Atty. Gerald "Jerry" Flanagan Notice
Flanagan, Atty. Gerald "Jerry" After a long battle with leukemia, Jerry died peacefully and entered Eternal Life on Sunday, April 21, 2013, at the age of 83. A cherished husband for 59 years to his wife Mary Jo (nee Buellesbach) and proud father of Maureen (Will) Groneman, Therese Flanagan, Michael (Janel) Flanagan and Peter (Sheila) Flanagan. Jerry was also a special grandpa to his 13 grandchildren: Gannon (Sarah) Sullivan, Brady Sullivan, Colin Halladay, Evan Groneman, Brian Groneman, Katie Groneman, Zack Groneman, Andee Flanagan, Alex Flanagan, Matthew Flanagan, Owen Flanagan, Ned Flanagan and Bridget Flanagan. Also survived by two brothers, Tom and Giles, as well as many other relatives and friends. A partner for many years with the law firm of Flanagan, Sendik & Fahl, Jerry retired from Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C. A long-time and dedicated Rotarian, Jerry was a member of the Wauwatosa Rotary Club and the Wisconsin State Bar. Following his retirement, he was a faithful volunteer with Greater Tosa Interfaith, at Hawthorne Terrace where he resided for many happy years, and at St. Jude Parish where he enjoyed singing with the congregation's choir. Jerry was a man with many interests. He was an avid gardener, a serious sports fan, a beloved storyteller and a great cook. He was always ready to help anyone in need, and has often been described as a "fine Christian gentleman". Visitation will be held at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 734 Glenview Ave., Wauwatosa on Friday, April 26 from 10:30 AM until the time of service at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Parish or Maryknoll Sisters of St. Dominic would be greatly appreciated.
