Glenn H. Franke

Notice Condolences

Franke, Glenn H. Dr. Of Plymouth, MN, passed away peacefully in his home on July 29, 2013. He has fought the good fight, he has finished the race, and he most definitely has kept the faith. He is now in the presence of Jesus. He showed great promise as a concert pianist, but opted for a career in medicine. He served in the medical corps of the U.S. Navy for 2 years, and then became an extraordinary internist in private practice in Milwaukee for over 40 years. Greater than his love of medicine was his passion for God's Word. Glenn faithfully taught Bible to young adults, young married couples, and fellow adults for over 50 years. He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years (Shirley), and survived by 3 children, Tom (Cathy) Franke, Peggy (Chuck) Westerfeld, and Jane (Bruce Litchfield), 8 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. He remained a tender, compassionate, and sweetly spirited man and all who knew him and were touched by his gentleness will miss him. Visitation Monday, August 5, 2013, at the Schmidt & Bartelt funeral home, 10121 W. North Ave., from 6-8PM, and continue Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at Wisconsin Memorial Park-Chapel of the Chimes, 13235 W. Capitol Dr., in Brookfield, from 9:30AM until time of the Funeral Service at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shepherds Foundation in Union Grove, WI.
