Robert W. "Bob" Thalke

Thalke, Robert W. "Bob" August 16, 2013. Age 90. Dearest friend and traveling companion of Joan Kutter. Survived by nephews William (Barbara) Branta, Ronald (Alice) Branta, Thomas (Mary Lou) Branta and niece, Susan (Rick) Krancki; grandnephews and nieces, great - grandnephews and nieces, other relatives and many friend. Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Branta and twin brother Lionel "Bud" Thalke. He retired from Milwaukee Public Schools as Assistant Director of Plant Operations. A World War II Veteran (Machinist Mate 2nd Class), served on 5 different ships. He was also in the Naval Reserve and the Air Force Reserve (Master Sergeant). Participated in the Honor Flight on Oct. 8, 2011. A "Celebration of Bob's Life" will be held at Brookfield Congregational United Church of Christ 16350 W. Gebhardt Road, Brookfield, WI, on Saturday, September 28, with Visitation from 9:30 AM until Service at 11 AM to be followed by a light lunch and fellowship. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Gifts would be appreciated to Bethel-Bethany United Church of Christ; Brookfield Congregational United Church of Christ or to the Friends of The Milwaukee Public Library.
