Oehlke, Carl B. Died peacefully with family at his side on March 18, 2014 at age 92. Beloved husband of Millie (nee Ertl) for 68 years. Loving father of Suzanne (the late Charles) Webb, Robert (Marge) Oehlke, Jean (Chuck) Nelson. Dear grandfather of Kimberly (Craig) Oster, Scott (Jodi) Blazek, Amy (Bill) Kulick, Craig Nelson, Jennifer Webb, Ryan Hinz, Kevin (Jamie) Hinz and Kristin Oehlke. Dear great-grandfather of Maria, Justin, Marcus, Drake, Chloe, Alaina. Also survived by a sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Carl's life on Tuesday, March 25, from 9:30AM until 11AM at ST. GREGORY THE GREAT CHURCH, 3160 S. 63rd St., Milwaukee, WI. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM. Private Entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Carl proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines during WWII and received 2 purple hearts for injuries he sustained. Retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 37 1/2 years of service. Carl faithfully served his church for many years. He was past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus-Council 3095, 4th Degree Knight-Mnsg Arnold Council, Disabled War Vets and American Legion. Memorials in Carl's name can be made to St. Gregory the Great Church or St. Vincent DePaul Society. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the entire staff at the VA Hospital in Milwaukee for the wonderful care given to Carl, especially Sonia and the Palliative Care Unit, and also to Carl's special guardian angel, Jim for the endless hours transporting Carl to and from the VA for his treatments.
