Mateske, Dennis A. Of Grafton (formerly Glendale). Passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the age of 66 years. Dennis was born in Milwaukee on October 15, 1947 and was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Jeanette (nee Walsh) Mateske. Husband for 43 years of Robin (nee Meyer) Mateske. Father of Chad (fiancée Sara Sturtewagen) Mateske, Carrie Anne (Michael) Secklin and Megan Mateske. Brother of Colleen Mateske. Uncle of Brian (Sara) Mateske. Great uncle of Nathan Mateske. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Throughout his life, Dennis enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, trap shooting and bowling. Music was always a very important part of his life. He sang in church choirs and while in high school Dennis participated in musicals each year, concert choir and was a member of Tri-M. He was a member of the folk singing group The Troubadours and sang with the Milwaukee Symphony Chorus. Dennis worked for 25 years in the Milwaukee Carpenters Union and enjoyed spending the final 16 years of his employment at his Alma Mater Nicolet High School. Dennis served in the U.S. Air Force Active Duty for 4 years and was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War. Friends may greet the family on Saturday, May 3, from 3:00 PM to the time of Memorial Services at 4:00 PM at Wisconsin Memorial Park Chapel of the Chimes; 13235 West Capitol Drive in Brookfield. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials in Dennis's name be made to Wounded Warriors (, Honor Flight (, Disabled American Veterans ( or the Wisconsin Humane Society ( The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the Aurora Medical Center of Grafton, VITAS Hospice and Cedar Springs Health and Rehab of Cedarburg.
