Peterson, Eugene L. Age 89 of Shawano, formerly of Milwaukee, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 25, 2014, at Sheridan Medical Hospice in Kenosha. Born July 21, 1925 in Shawano, WI a son of the late John and Ella (Lund) Peterson. Marine Corps First Division veteran of World War II. Purple Heart recipient from wounds suffered in the Battle of Peleliu. Beloved husband of Eleanora (nee Chiappetta) formerly of Kenosha, WI. Retired Supervisor/Foreman at Wisconsin Gas Company in Milwaukee where he worked for 38 years. Current member of Zion Lutheran Church, Shawano and the Disabled American Veterans. Former member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Lunds. Survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Eleanora of Lunds, WI; four children, Susan (Rev. Dr. Robert Neuhaus, deceased) of Oyster Bay, NY; John (Ann) of Middleton, WI, Bruce (Jill) of Crystal Lake, ILL;, Brian of Chicago, ILL. One Sister, Arlene Grunewald and one brother, Roland. Four grandchildren, Robert, Daniel, Cole and Brett. Further survived by loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Preceded in death by three sisters, Joyce Johnson, Margaret Duncan and June Liepold. Memorial service Tuesday, August 12, at 11:30 AM Zion Lutheran Church, Shawano, WI.
