Helen D. Melzer

Melzer, Helen D. (Nee Froehlich ) Of Metropolitan Milwaukee, formerly of Glenview IL, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2014, at the age of 95 years. Loving and caring mother of Richard J. (Mary) Melzer and Thomas P. (Charlene) Melzer. Proud grandmother of Kim (Adam) Blumer of Iron Mountain, Michigan, Michael (Meaghan) Melzer, and Elizabeth Melzer. Dear great-grandmother of Laura Blumer and Julia Blumer, both of Iron Mountain, Michigan. Further survived by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard H. Melzer and grandson David Melzer. Helen was a wonderful family-centered homemaker. She graced those around her with her talents of sewing, knitting, and gardening. She further enjoyed her travels exploring locales such as the Western United States and Door County, keeping up with social correspondences, and was an avid reader. She continued, throughout her life, to grow in the knowledge and love of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Visitation for Helen will be held on Monday, October 13, 2014, at the funeral home, from 5:30 PM until time of Funeral Services at 7 PM. Private entombment at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield, WI. Helen was a picture of pleasant graciousness, with a ready smile, who always put the concerns of others first. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Brookside Baptist Church.
