Paul Weishar Obituary

Weishar, Rev. Paul M. Born to Eternal Life on Thurs. Dec. 11, 2014 age 94. Dear brother of Anne Weishar of Slinger, Frances Johnston of Arlington Heights, IL and Capt. Charles F. Weishar USN, ret. of Newport, RI. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Sr. Mathias Weishar OSF, Elizabeth Peterson and William Weishar. Mass of Christian Burial 3:00 PM on Fri. Dec. 19, 2014 at St. Mary Parish, N89 W16297 Cleveland Ave., Menomonee Falls, WI 53051. Most Reverend Jerome E. Listecki Archbishop of Milwaukee presiding. Interment Calvary Cemetery. Visitation Fri. at the church from 1:00PM until time of Mass. Born in Milwaukee on May 3, 1920 the son of William and Maria (nee Zimmermann) Weishar. He attended St. Sebastian's Grade School, Marquette University High School and St. Francis Seminary. Rev. Paul was Ordained at St. John's Cathedral on May 29, 1948. For 20 years he served as an Associate Pastor at parishes in Cudahy, N. Fond du Lac, Milwaukee and Mequon. He served as Pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish in Saukville from 1968-1977, St. Lawrence Parish in Milwaukee from 1977-1985, and St. John Parish in Monches, including the Mission at St. Columba in Lake Five from 1985-1990. During his active ministry he served terms on the Priest's Senate, Temporalities Committee and Pension Board. In addition to aiding the Vietnamese Dominican Sisters during the 1970's and 1980's after they came to the United States, he served as Chaplain to 2 Knights of Columbus Councils for 40 years. Along with hunting and fishing, Rev. Paul enjoyed music. He organized and played with bands for dances and social events at the parishes he served. In retirement he assisted various parishes in the Milwaukee and Green Bay dioceses, and entertained the elderly with his music in Nursing Homes and Senior Citizen Clubs. Memorials in Rev. Paul's name to the Foundation for Religious Retirement or Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi, 3221 S. Lake Dr., St Francis, WI 53225, appreciated.

Fr Weishar was our Pastor in Saukville when my Husband died and my Son was burned in a fire. He helped us through that difficult time. He was a gentle and wonderful man. We will always remember him.
