I just heard the news about my pal Janet. I wish I had known sooner so I could give my condolences to your family. My favorite moment with Janet was when I was working third shift at Elizabeth Residence, and I would go to wake her up for the day. We used to watch the news and talk about anything and everything. One morning, I surprised Janet with two copies of The White House Cookbook, and held a "Book signing" with her. She was tickled pink. One book was for myself, and the other was for my grandmother, who is a fan of White House history. She said "My hands aren't what they used to be, so you can rewrite the message next to it". So I did. Janet said something to the effect of "I hope you enjoy this book just as much as I do. You have a wonderful granddaughter." My grandma was so excited about the book, she mailed me a thank you card to give to Janet, and it was hanging on her bulletin board in her room. As a former journalism student, I was fascinated by her story, and considered her a living legend. I hope your hearts find comfort and peace soon. Take care and much love to you all.

I'm very sorry for your loss Dennis. It seems your mom lived a very full life and was quite an amazing woman.

Dear Dennis & Sue & Family,
We are so sorry for your loss. Your mother sounds like an interesting and creative person. We are in Florida for the month of January and just heard about your mom from Mary Ann. Not on Facebook much. Please know we will keep you and your mom in our prayers. May she rest in peace and may you find peace and solace in knowing she had a full and interesting life.
