Ruby Katherine (Stauffer) Mast(1917 - 2013)

Ruby Katherine Mast, 96, of Julesburg, CO passed away Friday March 8th, 2013 in Julesburg. Visitation was held Tuesday March 12th, at Austin-Tennant Funeral Home in Julesburg. Funeral services were held on Wednesday March 13th at the Julesburg Mennonite Church with Pastor Art Roth officiating. Interment followed at the Chappell, Nebraska Mennonite Cemetery.
Ruby was born January 27, 1917 in Milford, Nebraska the daughter of J.G. and Katherine (Rile) Stauffer. She graduated from Milford High School. On February 28, 1937 Ruby married Delmar W. Mast and the two of them were married for 62 years. She moved to Julesburg in 1937, shortly after marriage to Delmar. Ruby worked as a teacher aide for Julesburg Elementary School for ten years. She also was a bookkeeper for Del's OK Tire business for 30 years. Ruby was a member of the Ladies Golf Association, the Gray Ladies, and volunteered at the Julesburg Welcome Center. Golfing was her favorite hobby, she was very proud of accomplishing a hole-in-one. Quilting was a great love of hers. She quilted many quilts for people all over the country and even sent some to foreign places. She also had a passion for reading and was a big fan of Broncos football. She was member of the Chappell Mennonite Church & then transfer to Julesburg Mennonite Church where she was a lifetime member. She was baptized at age 14. Ruby loved her church and was a Sunday school teacher for many for many years.
Ruby is survived by sons William D. Mast & wife Julie, Terry A. Mast & wife Linda, Kelly J. Mast & wife Rhonda. Nine grandchildren: Sacha Mast, Dustin Mast, Tiffany & husband Dave Greff, Scott Mast, Corey Mast, Trish & husband Dave Frank, William Kerry Mast & wife Stephanie, Taylor Thomas & husband Harry, & Erin Lietaert. Ten great-grandchildren: Kira & Tesa Mast, Broch & Cedar Mast, Logan Frank, Cole & Rose Greff, & Jennifer Beeman. Four great-great grandchildren; Tegan & Sheldon Lietaert, Noah Thomas, & Shayne Kramb. Extended Family: Kirk & lyn Lichtey, Kyle & Deb Lichty, Kent Lichty & Carrie, T.J. & Lynnsey Williams & their son Jayce Williams.
Ruby was preceded in death by husband Delmar, brothers Harry, Roy, Phillip, Leo, Wilton, and Lenard Stauffer, sisters Anna, Lilly, Ada, and Taphina.
