Donald "Bunny" Allen Gretch, 88, of Fort Morgan, died Friday, March 21, 2014 at the Valley View Villa Care Center in Fort Morgan.
He was born February 10, 1926 in Haxtun, Colorado to Michael and Emma Gretch.
Donald proudly served his country during
United States Navy
He married Betty L. Jenik on June 19, 1951 in Julesburg.
Donald moved to Fort Morgan from Wray in 2005. He was a member of the
and the American Legion in Wray.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, playing golf, lapidary, and pursuing the shooting sports, which included reloading his own shells.
Survivors include his wife, Betty of Fort Morgan, sons, Mike Gretch (Veronica) of Fort Morgan, Patrick Gretch (Linda) of Log Lane Village, and Timothy Gretch (Lisa) of Hampton, Nebraska, one daughter, Elizabeth Kurth of Potter, Nebraska, one brother, Robert Gretch of Elko, Nevada, eight grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, two sisters, two brothers, and his parents.
There will be a viewing on Wednesday, March 26th from 4 until 7 pm at Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 10:30 am at Heer Mortuary Chapel in Fort Morgan. The services will conclude at the mortuary. There will be cremation and at a later date he will be inurned in the Sedgwick Cemetery.
Military Honors by the
Memorial gifts may be given to the Hospice of the Plains.
Heer Mortuary in Fort Morgan is in charge of the arrangements.
