Rodney Marion Paulk, passed away April 26, 2013.
Born 48 years ago on November 21, 1964 in Jacksonville, FL.
Rod graduated from Juneau Douglas High School in 1983, where he enjoyed playing sports, mainly football. He attended ASU for a short time before he got a job with the City Of Juneau as a Road Maintenance Worker. He took a break from that to become an accountant for ASMI (Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute), and then eventually went back to work for the City of Juneau to do snow removal for the airport.
Rod LOVED fishing from the time he could hold a fishing rod. He also enjoyed hunting and golfing. He always said he wasn't a very good golfer, but he could hit the ball further than almost anyone. Rod was a pet lover as well, he always had a cat or pup hanging around, and he said they were very comforting for him. Rod married his wife on October 19th 2006 and inherited a huge family who loved him very much. They enjoyed taking trips & loved to fish and camp together, with friends.
He was predeceased by his father William M Paulk. Survived by his wife, Jamie Paulk of Juneau, his mother Myrtle Paulk of Juneau, his brother Ron Paulk and his wife Chris Paulk of Anacortes WA, a niece Jacinta Shouse and her husband Dave from WA, and his great niece and nephew, Jasmine and Kevin. He had two step-sons, Kenneth Rose (Mary) of TN and Curtis Rose (Desiree) of CA. A granddaughter whom he helped name Terracean McKenley. And a lot more family members.
Rod will be remembered for his quick and unique sense of humor that always had his friends laughing. He was a true friend to many and will be greatly missed.
