In Loving memory of Alice J Roussel (86) who passed away on February 26th, 2018, in her home in Juneau, Alaska.

Alice was born on July 6th, 1931, in Elkhart, Indiana, and was the daughter of Charles and Celia Sheets.
Alice graduated Elkhart High School in Elkhart, IN, and shortly thereafter entered military service with the Woman's Army Corps in Fort McClellan Al with the 14th Army Band. After a 20 year break to marry and raise two daughters, she then returned to finish her military career with the Main Army National Guard as a publications clerk, and to proudly serve with the Maine State Honor Guard as the Maine State Bugler. Never once did she play 'Taps' that she didn't cry; she always said "it was the last honor we could bestow on someone who has given so much for their country."

Alice received numerous awards while with the Maine Army National Guard including: the Meritorious Service Metal, three Army Commendation Medals, two Army Achievement Medals, as well as numerous other awards and honors.

Alice married the love of her life, Vincent Roussel, on April 16th, 1983, and they lived in Augusta, ME.
Alice's passions were her family, friends, and animals including her parrot Samantha.

Alice is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Celia Sheets, her daughter Jeannette (Peterson) Morrison, and her husband Vincent E. Roussel.
Alice is survived by her daughter Cheryll M. Rowe; her son Gerry Power; granddaughter Jennifer Morrison; and great-grandchildren Talyn, Chianna, and Meka.

It was Alice's request to have no funeral, but to have her ashes spread in her favorite place in Alaska.
