Blanche was born in Columbia Falls, Montana, to Charles and Nellie Motichka. The family moved to Idaho where she graduated from Salmon High School with honors. She completed business training at Kinman Business University in Spokane and later attended State College of Washington in Pullman.

Blanche married Don in Wrangell Alaska August 11, 1941 and they lived in Douglas 29 years. Initially she worked as lead secretary at the Subport. After Don joined the Army and was stationed in Adak, Blanche became a full-time homemaker. Eventually eight children were born and raised in Douglas, Don became chief of electronics at Alaska Coastal Airlines and they enjoyed building two homes in Douglas, hunting, fishing, and gardening.

In 1970, the family relocated to Washington where they were active in the Seventh Day Adventist Church and she enjoyed quilting, gardening, and chatting with friends and family. Don and Blanche were married 51 years when he passed away in 1992. She moved to Roy and later to Everett to live near her children.

Blanche will be buried beside Don in the Ray Family Cemetery in Auburn Washington. At her request, there will be no public service. A Celebration of Life will be held for family members at a later date. For more info or to leave condolences, go to www.FloralHillsLynnwood.com
