David John Scharen, 48, passed away unexpectedly due to natural causes on Jan 30th , 2016. He took his last breath surrounded by his wife and children in Juneau, Alaska.
David is survived by his father William Robert Scharen of Florence OR.
His wife & soul mate Victoria Scharen. Their love story started long before they were able to be married in Juneau in 1994. They met in Portland when Victoria would serve him lunch, they believed the connection of their souls was instant and permanent.
His 7 children and 3 grandchildren. Father to: Blaine Scharen (Fiance: Katie Tarver), Rebecca (Scharen) Ingraham (Husband: Aaron Ingraham) Andrea Scharen (Michael Anaya), Tori Scharen, Lizabeth Scharen (He was looking forward to adding Chase Mitchell as his son-in-law), Alexander David Scharen and Christopher John Scharen. Proud Grandpa to Ryder David Anaya, Madison Ingraham, & Lillian-Lee Daveya Ingraham.
His siblings; Mindy Tomisser, William (Rob) Scharen, James Scharen, Timothy Scharen and Kimberely Scharen. As well as Countless nieces and nephews. I Apologized to anyone I missed.
David collapsed while doing the job he loved with the man he greatly admired, Gene Coogan. I want to thank the crew that got him to the hospital in time for his family to be with him. He loved everything outdoors from construction to camping. His greatest joy was his children and anything he could do with them or for them.
He was proceeded in death by 4 babies before they got to take their 1st breath but are no doubt getting to know their daddy now. His mother Diana Arlene Boyd, grandparents; Robert & Nina Scharen, Roy Boyd & Edna Geitman.

Dave's wishes were to have an outdoor gathering for him whenever he passed. So after March we will have a celebration of life for him in Juneau, Alaska. We will camp for several days with music, fishing, family, and everything he loved. So please if you want to be kept in the loop for this, especially if you aren't already in Juneau, send emails to victoria.s[email protected]

Donations can be made to Wells Fargo under his wife's name or to any anti-smoking campaign in his name. Please in his memory if you are a smoker get help and stop. Tobacco use was a contributing factor to his sudden death. Do not leave your loved ones behind.
