Longtime Juneau resident Dolores A. (Drath) Larson passed away on Saturday Nov. 22, 2014 at Aegis Memory Care Center in Kent, WA with her 3 children by her side.
Dolores was born in Fresno CA to Jess & Virginia Drath in their home on Christmas day in 1929. She graduated from Fresno High School and attended Fresno State College where she met Paul Clabaugh. They married in June of 1949, and had 3 children. Dolores worked as a Landscape Architect and also worked for the US Forest Service in Fresno, CA.
In July of 1972 she brought her 2 daughters to Juneau AK to live. She worked for the US Forest Service and the AK Dept. of Fish & Game where she met Robert Larson. Theymarried in April of 1983 in the Fern Grotto of Kauai, HI.
Dolores loved the outdoors, she loved to travel, and entertain friends and family in her home at Tee Harbor. She was well known for her Octoberfest celebration's with yummy food and good friends.
Dolores is survived by her husband Robert Larson of Juneau AK, sister Virginia (Dale) Stringer of Clovis CA., son David (Lucinda) Hites-Clabaugh of Forest Grove, OR, daughter Laurie (Jerry) Godkin of Juneau AK, and daughter Carol (Glenn) Stephens also of Juneau AK. She is also survived by, her 4 step-children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, all who loved and adored her. Her wishes were to be cremated and spread upon the waters of Tee Harbor, AK.
The last two years of her life she spent at Aegis of Kent and was treated like family and with unconditional love and kindness.
