On December 30, 2016 after more than a year of fighting for her health Gloria Ann Christensen Mackey lost the battle at home, surrounded by her family.

Our mother was a loving, kind and generous woman, who dedicated her life to her children and family as well as a lifetime caring for the needs of others. She touched the lives of so many people, and all who knew her loved her. Gloria loved to travel and spend time with friends and family.

Born in Waterloo, Iowa to Alpha and Helvig Christensen, Gloria later moved with her family to Pelican, Alaska where she grew up. After finishing school at Sheldon Jackson High in Sitka and eventually moving to Juneau, she met and married Charles Mackey. She held various jobs until going to work for the State of Alaska where she eventually retired.

Gloria is preceded in death by both of her parents and brother Roger Christensen and is survived by her three children April, Charla, and Robert. Also left behind are three grandchildren as well as her brother Duane Christensen, his wife Lori, and their three children.

She is loved beyond measure and will be horribly missed ......every day!
